About the Role

Join our team as a Grade 3, Occupational Therapist, working from Monash Medical Centre in Clayton, on a full time ongoing basis

As a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist at Monash Health, you will provide advanced clinical care, applying specialised knowledge to deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention across diverse client needs. Working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team, you will guide therapeutic planning, support timely care access, and address complex clinical presentations with a strong person-centred approach.

You will also play a key leadership role—supervising students and junior staff, contributing to service innovation, and driving quality improvement initiatives. Your expertise in digital health, data-informed practice, and stakeholder collaboration will support both service delivery and workforce development. This role is ideal for a dynamic clinician who thrives in complex environments and is committed to continuous improvement and professional excellence.

About Us

The Mental Health Program (MHP) provides a range of community, bed-based and specialist services covering the Casey, Cardinia, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Monash LGAs – a population of nearly one million.

East Bentleigh Community Care Unit or East Bentleigh CCU provides community residential psychosocial rehabilitation to consumers years old) who have a serious mental illness and associated psychosocial limitations. East Bentleigh CCU provides a home-like environment where consumers can continue their recovery from mental illness and develop their skills and capacity for independent living in order to facilitate a transition to the community. East Bentleigh CCU offers an initial four week residential assessment that may be followed by a medium-term psychosocial rehabilitation program based on individual needs. Referral sources predominantly include Monash Health community mental health teams (CCTs and MSTTs), adult acute inpatient psychiatric units, and the secure extended care unit (SECU).

About You

You are a highly experienced Occupational Therapist with advanced clinical expertise and a passion for delivering person-centred, evidence-based care. You bring a deep understanding of complex health conditions, functional assessments, and therapeutic interventions across varied populations.

You demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, effective workload management, and a commitment to quality improvement. Confident in guiding others, you provide clinical supervision, support junior staff, and contribute to professional development initiatives. Your leadership extends to service innovation, where you use data and digital health tools to inform practice and drive positive change.

You are collaborative, adaptable, and an effective communicator, with a solid understanding of the broader health and social systems. Your professionalism, initiative, and dedication to lifelong learning make you a trusted member of any team.

Qualification requirements include:

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
• Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions (cannot have a non-practising registration)
