About the role
We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join our team at RQ living Pty Ltd in Sydney, NSW. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalised care to individuals with disabilities. This is a casual position, offering flexibility to fit around your lifestyle.
What you'll be doing
We are currently recruiting multiple Disability Support Workers to provide support to NDIS participants across the Macquarie, West and Northwest Suburbs of Sydney.
You will work in the community providing a range of supports to participants to enable them to achieve their personal goals and build their independence.
You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of participants with different support needs including complex behaviours or with high support care needs, in addition to building improved daily living skills, social and community participation, personal care, and domestic support.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field.
- Experience working one-on-one with people with disabilities who may have complex medical or exhibits behaviours of concern.
- A valid Australian driver's license.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening.
- A valid First-Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening.
- Flexible availability to work a range of shifts during the week, overnight, and occasional weekends.
Desirable:
- Certificate 4 in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field.
- Mental Health 1st Aid
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- A reliable vehicle with car insurance.
