WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • We are seeking a driven and experienced Territory Account Manager to manage and grow sales within Victoria. The ideal candidate will have a background in science-based sales, particularly with microbiology knowledge and a strong understanding of turnkey solutions.
  • Experience within the Food & Beverage industry is highly desirable, as this role involves supporting clients in quality, safety, and regulatory compliance applications. This is a field-based role requiring excellent communication skills, technical aptitude, and a customer-first mindset.
  • The role will drive sales growth by managing and expanding business and will develop and nurture relationships with key accounts in sectors including food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, environmental, and industrial microbiology.
  • You will identify new business opportunities and build account strategies to maximize territory performance and deliver engaging product presentations and technical demonstrations, particularly for microbiology testing and turnkey systems.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, understanding customer needs in quality control, safety testing, and regulatory environments and collaborate with application specialists, product managers, and service teams to deliver integrated solutions and superior customer support.
  • You will stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments, especially in food safety, hygiene monitoring, and microbial testing and maintain accurate customer and activity records using CRM tools.
  • You will attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to generate leads and strengthen market presence.
WHAT QUALS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WILL YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB?
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific field (Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in scientific sales, preferably with a focus on laboratory instrumentation or turnkey systems.
  • Knowledge of microbiology workflows and applications, particularly within Food & Beverage environments (e.g., pathogen detection, spoilage organisms, shelf-life studies).
  • Familiarity with quality and safety regulations such as HACCP, ISO 17025, FSMA, and GFSI schemes are advantageous.
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets and developing long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent English communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able and willing to travel regularly throughout the territory.
  • Existing network within the Food & Beverage sector (e.g., dairy, meat, beverage, ready-to-eat products).
