LO-GO Appointments QLD is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Tourism and Destination Management professionals for upcoming opportunities within Queensland Local Government.
Our clients are looking for motivated and capable individuals to help shape the future of their regions as sustainable, thriving visitor destinations. These roles suit professionals who combine strategic thinking with practical delivery skills and a collaborative approach to regional development.
You will contribute to initiatives that grow the visitor economy, strengthen industry partnerships, and enhance regional identity through destination planning, tourism development and marketing.
Key Focus Areas
- Tourism & Destination Planning – Contribute to the design and delivery of destination management and tourism strategies that align with regional goals.
- Team & Operational Support – Provide input, coordination or leadership to teams involved in tourism, marketing and visitor information services (depending on placement).
- Regional Marketing & Promotion – Support or coordinate destination marketing campaigns, regional branding initiatives and visitor engagement activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Build productive relationships across government, industry, and community stakeholders to drive collaboration and shared outcomes.
- Industry & Business Development – Support local operators and tourism businesses to enhance capability, access funding and develop new products and experiences.
- Project & Program Delivery – Manage or contribute to tourism projects, events and regional marketing initiatives with sound planning, reporting and accountability.
The Ideal Candidates Will Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in tourism, destination management, regional marketing, or economic development.
- Experience working within Local Government or similar multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and project delivery skills.
- Strategic and practical capability to turn ideas into action;
- Understanding of the regional tourism landscape and visitor economy principles.
- Willingness and ability to travel and reside away from home for the duration of an assignment, where required.
- Current unrestricted 'C' class driver's licence.
