About the opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to provide a range of high-level strategic and business support to the Director Corporate Services and the directorate on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role involves leading special projects determined by the Director Corporate Services which align with core directorate and organisational priorities. Responsibilities include:
- providing expert advice
- managing internal communications and implementing strategies to support improved data analysis
- enhancing information management and reporting in collaboration with the responsible managers and key staff
- supporting the alignment of organisational strategy within the directorate and broader organisation
- contributing to the business planning, overseeing budget expenditure, and coordinating and monitoring key projects and customer service priorities.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Degree qualifications in in Project Management, Business, or a related field
- Experience in managing and delivering projects
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring and closure
- Excellent written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement and reporting
- Ability to motivate and guide project teams
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks
- Adaptability, being able to adjust to changing project requirements and circumstances
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in project documentation and execution
- Extensive experience in local and/or state government
- Ability to work autonomously with multiple competing priorities within tight timeframes
- Proven ability to work as part of a team across multiple sections, directing professional or other staff in the planning, implementation and review of major projects
- High level computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications
- Current class C drivers licence.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the functions of Council
- Availability to work flexible hours.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,623.25 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
