Are you ready to take your networking expertise to the next level? We are seeking a Senior Network Specialist to join our dynamic team and provide technical leadership in the implementation and maintenance of advanced networking technologies across our department.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the installation, integration, performance tuning, and problem management of our extensive wide area and data centre networks, as well as campus LAN and Wi-Fi environments. You will play a crucial part in supporting over 2,000 sites and two data centres, leveraging cutting-edge technology to maintain one of Australia's largest and most sophisticated IT networks.

As the main point of contact for major network events, you'll coordinate 2nd and 3rd level support from our dedicated team of specialists while collaborating closely with key stakeholders, vendors, and field staff. Your passion for delivering exceptional network services to schools will be essential in driving adherence to ITIL principles and ensuring vendor accountability to agreed SLAs.

About you 

Strong leadership and communication skills.Implement and maintain advanced networking technologies. Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.Ability to manage competing priorities to deliver quality outcome in tight timeframesKnowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Tertiary qualifications in information technology or equivalent experience in delivering and maintaining complex, scalable and geographically dispersed networks.Participation in an after-hours on call roster as required.Industry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
