Alexandria, Australia Ampol Full time

**Support reliability of EV charging, solar, and battery energy assets across Australia**:

- **Manage contractors and maintenance planning to ensure safe and reliable asset performance**:

- **Full-time permanent role based in Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne - Sydney preferred**

**About Ampol**

We are proud of our heritage. We have been powering better journeys for all Australians for over 100 years. As Australia’s very own fuel brand we are committed to making those journeys easier by meeting Australia’s needs at every step with the care and service we all deserve. And, as we grow, continue to evolve, to ensure we have low carbon solutions that will meet the needs of our customers well into the future.

**About the Role**

The Reliability Specialist is a key member of the Asset Operations team, responsible for overseeing the ongoing reliability and performance of energy solutions assets across Australia, including electric vehicle charging stations, solar installations, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role ensures that maintenance contracts and third-party service providers are effectively managed to meet reliability targets, support safe operations, and deliver cost-effective maintenance outcomes. The role is pivotal in maintaining compliance with Ampol’s operational standards and statutory regulations, while driving the consistent performance of critical infrastructure across the network.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Monitor asset performance data to initiate preventative and reactive maintenance across EV chargers, solar systems, and BESS.
- Manage third-party maintenance providers, including identification, assessment, onboarding, and ongoing performance oversight.
- Ensure all maintenance activities align with Ampol’s safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support incident-free operations and drive improvements in asset reliability.
- Oversee the execution of maintenance contracts to meet operational targets and optimise cost efficiency.

**About you**

You are a hands-on, solutions-focused professional with a strong track record in reliability and maintenance planning, particularly within distributed asset environments. You bring a practical understanding of asset performance and demonstrate the ability to manage maintenance activities across complex systems—ideally with exposure to electrical infrastructure or the EV sector. You are confident managing third-party contractors, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring all work is delivered to a high standard. With a proactive mindset and excellent communication skills, you work effectively across teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and compliant operations.

**Skills and Attributes**
- Proven experience in reliability and planning roles, preferably involving distributed energy assets such as EV chargers, solar systems, or BESS
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractors effectively while driving a culture of safety and accountability
- Skilled in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), with SAP experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities across electrical assets, with hands-on knowledge of maintenance and repair practices
- Preferred trade qualifications (electrical/instrumentation with cross-discipline skills) and/or tertiary qualifications in engineering or related fields

**Our benefits**
- **Our total remuneration is competitive.** This is across base salary, a performance incentive, employee share offers and a 25% discount on Fuel for two privately used cars
- **We are flexible.** Many of our teams have embraced hybrid work, balancing time spent remote working, with time spent at an office to connect and work together where it adds value.
- **Remote Working**: Support for up to 3 months remote international working (conditional to 5 days paid leave for every 30 days of remote work).
- **We value recognition.** We have an internal recognition platform amplifying the achievements of those who do great work and demonstrate our capabilities and values.
- ** Career development and learning opportunities** including LinkedIn Learning and other tailored training solutions.
- **BabyCare Package** - financial and flexible support for parents transitioning back to work.
- **Need some wheels?** Novated Lease options are available.
- Invest in your future with the Employee Share Scheme
- **Leave Options** - Up to 6 weeks annual leave and additional Wellbeing leave days.
