**About the role**:
The objective of the Business Process team is to support efficiencies within our energy offering to ensure we continue to meet the ongoing needs of the Ampol business and our customers.

The focus of the Operations Excellence Specialist is the delivery and continuous improvement of the Future Energy function with a view to embedding sustainable management capability with a specific focus on business process, systems, safety, and risk.

You will be reporting to the Business Process Build Lead and collaborating with stakeholders across the broader Future Energy team to ensure the efficient achievement of business goals.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Build and develop continuous improvement of systems, processes and tools for business units supporting Future Energy initiatives
- Drive the development of capability within the group and actively support Future Energy leadership teams to optimize priorities
- Delivery of a structured assessment approach for integration of new business operations
- Generate actionable initiatives to deliver continuous improvement and ensure operational efficiency
- Promote continuous improvement as best practice and seek out new ways to improve
- Actively source and maintain knowledge of external market perspective to add value

The position can be located in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

As we grow, this role may also grow, and reasonable changes may need to be made in accordance with the needs of the business.

**About you**:
You will have previous experience in leading operational excellence and improvement initiatives in commercial consulting roles and a proven track record in operations and continuous improvement in an Energy Market/Renewables specific environment.

You demonstrate a nimble and proactive mindset and the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders both internal and external to Ampol Future Energy to achieve the strategic goals of the organisation.

You will be tertiary qualified in Project or Business Management or have background in an Engineering or Business discipline with a strong exposure to Electricity/Renewable Energy projects.

Your ability to guide third parties through to task completion will be well positioned and your working style exhibits a dynamic edge and flexibility to adapt available resources.

**Key skills and experience**:

- 5+ years’ experience and commercial acumen in evaluating opportunities, applies sound financial understanding in an Energy Market specific business
- Manage priorities and collaborate cross functionally to implement change
- Strong influencing skills, ability to navigate ambiguity using problem solving techniques
- Excellent presentation, oral/written communication skills including the capacity to relate and listen effectively to senior executives and key stakeholders
- Knowledge of and experience with CI methodologies including BPM, SixSigma, Kaizen
- Demonstrated experience and continued working knowledge of Energy operations and or similar civil/electrical construction and program management
