Systems Engineer
to join our Canberra based Operations Team.

About the Role

In this dynamic position, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing SUAS and CsUAS performance. Your responsibilities will include:

• Technology Integration:
  understanding and integrating advanced payloads and AI-driven autonomy, to deliver mission-critical SUAS and complementary CsUAS capabilities.
• Innovation
  : outthinking the threat and driving the edge of what is possible in aerial dominance and integrated defence ecosystems by working on new modifications, upgrades and enhancements to extract the full potential of SUAS and CsUAS products.
• Engineering Investigation
  : stepping into the cockpit without ever leaving the ground. You'll dive into the heart of airborne systems, decoding complex flight data, uncovering hidden anomalies, and turning real-world missions into engineering breakthroughs. From high-altitude performance to split-second telemetry, every flight tells a story, and you'll be writing the next chapter.
• Configuration Management
  : ensuring every component, software update, and hardware integration aligns flawlessly across the lifecycle, you will be contributing to this silent force behind every successful mission.
• System Safety
  : anticipating the unexpected and embedding resilience into every mission. You won't just prevent failures, you'll outsmart them by applying critical thinking in the development and management of safety related artefacts and applying safety in design principles.
• Engineering Management
  : turn engineering chaos into coordinated excellence through work on and in the engineering management frameworks that keep complex programs aligned.

What We Are Looking For

Experience and qualifications are important, but a positive attitude may set you apart from the rest; the right candidate will be considered, and training will be provided.

• Familiarity with SUAS and CsUAS systems, or similar systems.
• Knowledge of system safety principles and configuration management processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder interaction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple priorities and activities simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (e.g. Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or similar).
• Registered Professional Engineer in the Australian Capital Territory under the Professional Engineers Act 2023, or able to work towards.
