Finance Officer – Accounts Payable

Care Forward is an innovative, leading provider of home care services. We are a locally owned not for profit Tasmanian community service provider with a focus on reablement, health and wellbeing. Our core business consists of the coordination and delivery of home support services and community care across Tasmania.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Performs day to day finance functions associated with Care Forward funded programs including but not limited to; matching and processing accounts payable invoices, undertaking internal and external reporting, general liaison with stakeholders, and prioritisation of activities to support the delivery of financial objectives and deliverables in accordance with company business requirements and strategy.


• Review supplier email inbox daily, process invoices within the financial and consumer database systems, and liaise with Care Partners when required

• Check consumer management system service delivery entries against supplier invoices, adjust if required and confirm

• Monitor outstanding invoices for service delivery appointments and follow-up with suppliers

• Maintain a list of invoice queries submitted to Care Partner for closure

• Reconcile funding bank accounts and credit cards

• Provide back up for the Finance Team Leader with regard to Home Care Packages and Short Term Restorative Care programs, and maintain the accuracy of the relevant client database

• Be a consumer contact for payment enquiries and arrangements

About You

You are an enthusiastic and dedicated Individual with a passion for data entry and accuracy. With the ability to work in and contribute to a dynamic and professional team, you will thrive in this multidisciplinary environment. You are adaptable, dependable and enjoy meeting new people.

Minimum Requirements


• Relevant qualification or evidence of holding a similar role within a medium to large enterprise

• A minimum of three (3) years' experience working in a data driven business

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills

• Good level of verbal and written communication skills

• Two (2) professional referee checks - worked with candidate recently

• National Police Certificate obtained within the last three (3) months

Highly desirable


• Certificate IV in Business, Bookkeeping or Accounting

• Sound interpersonal communication/relational skill

• Ability to liaise and collaborate with all internal, and external stakeholders

• Committed to continuous learning and processes

• Demonstrated computer literacy with experience in word processing, calendar management software (Outlook) and data base applications

• Knowledge of Home Care Package funding
