Josh Hospitality Services Pty Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accountant to manage the financial operations of our hospitality and accommodation services business. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and industry regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment, supporting management in decision-making and contributing to the company's financial health and growth.

Location - Suite 2/54 Memorial Avenue, Liverpool NSW 2170

Employment type - Full-time (permanent)

Key Responsibilities duties:

  • Prepare financial reports, activity statements with accuracy.
  • Work alongside the Financial Controller to shape and implement business strategies.
  • Track business performance to ensure financial goals are on target.
  • Assist in planning annual budgets, cash flow projections, and financial statements.
  • Manage audits and ensure financial records are up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including BAS and GST obligations.
  • Handle payroll processing and maintain accurate staff records.
  • Develop and maintain effective risk management and compliance procedures.
  • Support both internal and external audit processes.
  • Provide financial insights to help drive business growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key business partners.

Requirements:

  • At least one year of relevant experience, preferably in hospitality or service industries
  • Good understanding of Australian accounting principles and taxation laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as SUN, MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field
  • CA/CPA qualification (or currently working towards completion)

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SUN, MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with BAS preparation and lodgement
