The Agency Growth tribe's mission is to help customers grow their business. We build and maintain a set of branding products that connect potential sellers with the right agent, and insights and tools to help agents and agencies nurture and convert these seller leads which are crucial to the success of their business. The tribe is unique in that it has a foot in both customer and consumer camps – we provide products for both agents and agencies, and the people who require their services.
What The Role Is All About
The Head of Engineering is responsible for delivering significant business impact by leading multiple engineering squads to achieve strategic product goals. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Head of Engineering will manage engineering teams responsible for building and constantly improving the products that support real estate agents.
While no two days are likely to be the same in this role, typical responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and execute technical solution design to deliver on the product roadmap, aligned to the tech strategy
- Provide guidance for complex engineering outcomes, supporting Engineering Managers to make technical decisions
- Ensure engineering excellence through engineering decision making and leading the adoption of best practices
- Driving impact through the direct people leadership of 4 Engineering Managers, with a total span of around 30 software engineers located across Australia, India and China
- Direct people leadership of up to 3 individual contributor technical experts
- Hire and grow the next generation of engineering leadership, coaching and managing performance
- Support a culture of high-performance and grow engagement across teams
- Partner closely with Product and Design teams to shape and plan strategic product roadmaps
- Build a high-performing system of work, grounded in metrics that matter and continuous improvement
- Lead delivery across your team, setting clear accountability for outcomes and communicating progress
- Drive transformative technology initiatives and manage dependencies with adjacent teams
Who We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a senior engineering leader
- A track record of leading teams to deliver complex programs of work which have significant business impact
- Experience fostering collaboration across multiple teams and building relationships across business units/functions
- Experience collaborating as a strategic technical partner to product teams, owning the solution design and delivery lifecycle to meet shared goals and deliver against the product roadmap
- Experience operating in fast-paced innovative environments
- A strategic thinker with experience aligning engineering efforts to enterprise or commercial goals
- Full stack engineering background; proven experience in different level roles in engineering leadership with experience leading leaders
- Demonstrated ability of leaning into challenging conversations including performance discussions and outcomes
