The Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO) has an opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Engineering & Logistics Unit’s, Engineering Governance team.

The APS 6 Engineering Surveillance Officer is accountable, under broad direction from the Platform Airworthiness Engineering Leads to undertake engineering oversight activities within the Capability and Acquisition Sustainment Group (CASG) Engineering Management System and the Defence Aviation Safety Regulation framework, as part of ALSPO’s support to the Royal Australian Air Force’s Air Mobility Group through the assurance of engineering functions and airworthiness.

**About our Team**
The Air Lift Systems Program Office (ALSPO) at RAAF Base Richmond sits within the Airlift and Tanker Systems Branch of the Aerospace Systems Division.

ALSPO is the in-service support agency responsible for sustaining and enhancing the RAAF’s C-130J Hercules and C-27J Spartan aircraft and for providing support to the sustainment of the Australian Defence Force’s Aerospace Simulators and training systems. ALSPO, in partnership with industry, exists to support Air Force’s Air Mobility Group achieve its mission by providing effective sustainment support solutions.

The Engineering & Logistics Unit (ELU) within ALSPO is an integrated workforce consisting of ADF and APS personnel. Given the integrated nature of our business, building and maintaining cooperative and collaborative relationships are fundamental to our success. We work closely with our industry partners via separate commercial arrangements to ensure effective sustainment support for the C-130J and C-27J fleet with ELU providing governance and assurance.
- Manage, interpret, analyse and evaluate assurance evidence.
- Identify shortcomings in provided information and actively seek further required evidence.
- Develop and provide reports, opinions and recommendations to improve the business and resolve weaknesses in controls.
- Analyse, plan, review and adjust priorities and work activities to meet business outcomes.

And will:

- Use initiative to establish a risk based strategic governance program in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Have excellent relationship management skills.
