About the Company

A leading law firm has exclusively partnered with Quinn Allan to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer on an initial 12-month contract. As the firm undertakes an ERP implementation, this position will ensure the seamless continuation of payroll operations while the incumbent focuses on the project. Renowned for its high-calibre team, the firm offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional seeking to further develop their expertise.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager and working closely with the wider finance team, this is a standalone role with full responsibility for managing payroll for approximately 800 employees. The position provides cover while the current incumbent is seconded to the implementation project.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining personnel data for both new and existing employees
  • Ensuring the accuracy of payroll calculations
  • Processing fortnightly payroll for salaried employees
  • Managing payroll for 20–30 casual employees
  • Reconciling data in line with current legislation and taxation requirements
  • Providing analysis and reporting on payroll activities as required
  • Undertaking ad hoc tasks as necessary

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment. You will have prior experience using Aurion (essential) and will ideally possess knowledge of the Legal Services Award. Previous experience within a law firm will be highly regarded. With 5–6 years of experience in a similar standalone role, you will be confident managing end-to-end payroll with accuracy and efficiency.
