The Role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to support and drive the overall Patties Quality strategy within Pakenham Operations on our afternoon shift team. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, and working closely with the site operations team, the key purpose of the role is to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of quality assurance & food safety program onsite so the processes can continue to meet and exceed customer expectations. Liaising directly with the Production and Quality management, you will be responsible for:

  • Educating and engaging production staff in relation to GMP requirements and quality standards around production lines
  • Conduct daily checks & line-walks on production lines to ensure CCPs, QCPs and X-Ray checks are met
  • Conducting GMP Audits and internal audits that verify quality & production processes
  • Assist quality manager with internal and external audits
  • Maintain Site document control and procedures so that the operational procedures comply with established practices and standards
  • Provide food safety and quality training to production staff
  • Continuously verify the level of training of all staff is sufficient in food production and every personnel who are responsible for food safety in their areas have the appropriate skills and practical knowledge.
  • Investigate Non-conformances and root-cause analysis
  • Advising production and management on Quality performance and systems.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in quality compliance and manufacturing environment is desirable.

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrate initiative and energy to deliver within deadline.
  • Strong passion for quality and your ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment will ensure your success.
  • High levels of attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • The confidence and skills to drive the quality culture and support the operations team through processes will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
