The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Primary Products Quality Assurance Officer to join our quality assurance team in West Footscray. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or food production environments who is ready to support our business through the implementation of industry-best practices in food safety, biosecurity, and compliance.
You'll work across multiple functions to develop, implement and oversee the monitoring, testing, and application of quality assurance programs within our primary processing operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
● Inspect and monitor fresh produce, dairy, and meat products to ensure quality standards are met before distribution.
● Develop, implement, and audit quality assurance procedures for handling, processing, and storage at the West Footscray facility.
● Test product samples for hygiene, size, purity, and compliance with food safety regulations.
● Provide guidance to suppliers and staff on pest, disease, and contamination prevention, and advise on biosecurity compliance.
● Ensure proper storage, packing, and transportation practices to maintain product integrity and hygiene.
● Educate and support staff on food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
● Assist management in investigating quality or biosecurity issues and support corrective actions where needed.
What You'll Bring
● Minimum 1 years' related experience as a quality assurance officer (in food, agriculture, or primary production).
● At least the Diploma degree of a related field.
● Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and biosecurity standards
● Experience with implementing and auditing quality assurance programs in processing or farm environments
● Ability to interpret and apply industry regulations related to grading, packaging, transport, and hygiene compliance
● Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
● Effective communication skills to liaise with producers, processors, and internal teams
● Proven ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a production-driven environment
● A genuine interest in continuous improvement and commitment to upholding product integrity and food safety
