The Opportunity

We are looking for a Clinical Trials Coordinator to join the Lions Vision Trials team at the Lions Eye Institute.  Lions Vision Trials are a division of the Lions Eye Institute that conduct all phases of industry sponsored and investigator initiated clinical trials in ophthalmology.

This role is being offered on a full-time basis for a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension, to coordinate new and existing clinical trials across a spectrum of eye diseases.

Reporting to the Clinical Trials Manager, this position will work collaboratively as part of the Lions Vision Trials team and closely with the Lions Eye Institute clinical services, to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Implement and coordinate clinical trials, under the direction of the Clinical Trials Manager and Principal Investigator
  • Oversee all aspects of study execution, including recruitment of study participants
  • Ensuring compliance with study protocol and overall clinical objectives
  • Conducting study feasibility and preparing ethics and regulatory documents
  • Maintaining accurate and complete study records including case report forms, consent forms, and other study related documents
  • Ensuring the safety of study participants and managing any study-related adverse events
  • Communicating effectively with study team members, investigators, and other stakeholders as appropriate
  • Monitoring study progress and reporting on study status to investigators, manager, sponsors, and other relevant parties
  • Reconciling monthly study invoicing and study activities, as per the study budget

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) as a clinical trials coordinator in a clinical setting
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficiency in managing databases and patient data
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft office)

Desirable

  • BSc degree in clinical research, life sciences, or related field
  • Experience in ophthalmology.
  • Phlebotomy credentials
  • Experience in preparing Health Research Ethics Committee submissions
  • Experience coordinating investigator initiated clinical trials
  • Working knowledge of REDCap would be an asset
