Your Role in Our Future

As our Project Operations Lead, you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of clinical trials within our Cancer Trials Unit, with a particular focus on haematology studies. You will lead with operational excellence—ensuring projects run efficiently and smoothly—while guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered clinical trials.

A key part of your role will be managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including trial sponsors, clinical research organisations (CROs), medical teams, and internal project staff. Your ability to foster strong, collaborative partnerships will be critical to driving alignment, resolving issues proactively, and maintaining momentum across all phases of the trial lifecycle.

You will also spend time across the following duties;

  • Developing and reviewing performance metrics, implementing improvement measures to promote continuous enhancement in delivering trials on time, with high quality, and within budget.
  • Track recruitment and screening metrics identifying and addressing performance gaps minimising impacts on study timelines and maintaining enrolment momentum.
  • Building effective relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders including patients & participants, sponsors, monitors, Consultants, External Principal Investigators and vendors.
  • Maintain an awareness of financial performance identifying key areas of concern and implement corrective actions to ensure projects remain on track to achieve financial targets.
  • Supporting the Business Operations team with the development and submission of trial related documents ensuring readiness for ethics and regulatory approvals.

This position will be based at our Advanced Clinical Tial Centre on the QEII campus in Nedlands and will be offered on a full-time basis for 2 years in the first instance.

  • Significant experience in clinical trial operations, ideally within oncology or haematology settings.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams and managing complex clinical trial portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including sponsors, CROs, investigators, clinicians, and operational teams.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and foster collaboration across teams.
