We're currently looking for experienced section waitstaff and runners to join our front-of-house teams at both Porteño.

THE ROLES

SECTION WAITSTAFF

As a Section Waiter, you'll be responsible for delivering warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service to every guest. You'll take ownership of your section and work closely with the team to ensure each service runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering efficient and friendly table service
  • Managing your section with confidence and care
  • Making informed food and wine recommendations
  • Supporting the set-up and pack-down of the dining area
  • Ensuring health, safety and hygiene standards are met
  • Working collaboratively with the wider team

RESTAURANT HOST

As a Restaurant Host, you'll be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience with warmth, professionalism and a welcoming smile. You'll manage shift reservations, greet and seat guests and keep the flow of the dining room running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and seating guests with warmth and efficiency
  • Managing shift reservations and waitlists with accuracy and care
  • Maximising bookings throughout the shift, including taking phone reservations and accommodating walk-ins
  • Communicating shift needs and table timings effectively with managers, the kitchen, and section waiters
  • Using SevenRooms with proficiency to manage bookings and guest profiles
  • Maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere in the venue
  • Supporting service transitions, set-up, table turns and pack-down
  • Ensuring guest requests are communicated with kitchen and section waiters
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar role (hatted restaurant)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for food, drinks and genuine hospitality
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work as part of a team
  • Strong product knowledge and a desire to learn more
