Group Freight Coordinator - Based in Head Office, Auburn NSW 2144.

The Opportunity

As the Group Freight Coordinator, you will take ownership of all Air, Sea and Road International & Domestic shipping operations for the group. The role is crucial in supporting Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales & Operational divisions to deliver effective and efficient logistic movements across the business.

About the Role

Ø  Manage Imports and Exports for all international freight requirements.

Ø  Obtain quotes for international and domestic freight requirements

Ø  Liaise with carriers on bookings, charges, and arrival/departure times to ensure customer requirements are met.

Ø  Provide the Business with weekly reports on container movements.

Ø  Manage the Group domestic freight partnerships

Ø  Prepare and review shipping/freight contracts and negotiations

Ø  Checking of all invoices to rate cards and quotes prior to payment

Ø  First point of contact for all freight enquires

Ø  Identify recurring issues and put procedures in place to prevent a recurrence

Ø  Establish efficiency improvements and oversee the implementation

Ø  Review and assess the most optimum commercial position for freight consignments

Ø  Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that all divisions use best practice

About You

You have the ability to multi-task; problem solve and use initiative.  You have strong negotiation skills and have the ability to hold vendors to account. You are reliable, well structured, highly organised and have a systematic approach. You posse excellent communication skills, and systems knowledge and are able to deal with competing demands in a complex multi-business environment to ensure overall freight requirements are met.

Ø  Minimum 3 years' experience in an import/export and domestic freight co-ordination role

Ø  Solid understanding of legislative requirements and preparation of commercial invoicing

Ø  Ability to roll out new policies and procedures across the business.

Ø  Have a proven track record in managing and improving shipping processes and driving costs and maximising capacity
