In your new role as a Controller Engineering Operations, Freight, you will be responsible for the provision of domestic and international freight services to Qantas Engineering through the management of internal and external Freight providers in line with supplier contractual obligations and Qantas Group policies and procedures.
Managing the 24-hour operational requirements of the Engineering business globally, the role has accountability over the performance of AOG, Critical and Routine priority shipments across multiple suppliers, being the first point of contact for escalations by both internal and external stakeholders, coordinating recovery plans and driving continuous improvement to ensure the needs of the organisation are met while ensuring services are provided at the lowest cost.
You'll have – Demonstrated experience with Freight & Logistics Management Working understanding of Airfreight operations including customs, incoterms & dangerous goods or, relevant Aviation Engineering experience Strong influencing and negotiation skills High level of analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with IT solution design and ability to update data in multiple systems Proven ability to work with standard IT packages e.g Microsoft Office applications and various internal systems Exposure to Lean or similar methodologies including the ability to actively consider current practices and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
Understanding of the variety of visibly tools and applications associated with freight & logistics Ability to coach & train other staff Experience managing small projects Customs Tariff experience highly preferable Flexibility to work a 7-day rotational roster (7:00am–3:30pm, Monday to Sunday) Why Qantas?
