About the role

The Cognitive Dementia and Memory Service within the Neurosciences Department at Eastern Health, is a specialist diagnostic clinic for people with early cognitive changes or concerns about memory loss. There is currently an opportunity to join our team with a leave cover, position. The primary responsibility is a weekly outpatient clinic. There may also be an opportunity to provide support for covering of unplanned leave.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Essential

  • Must be a registered medical practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Must have significant clinical experience, with experience and training cognitive neurology.
  • Must hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or hold equivalent qualifications to enable recognition as a specialist.
  • Must participate in relevant college continuing education programs particularly related Neurosciences and Cognitive Neurology.

Other

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching of medical students and HMOs.
  • Teaching experience of other clinical staff - nursing and allied health.
  • Exposure to research practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with clinical information systems.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
