Join us as a dynamic WPI and Medical Disputes Specialist Take charge of managing CTP medical disputes, focusing on pivotal aspects like causation, threshold injury, and Whole Person Impairment (WPI). Your role will ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and internal KPIs, driving outcomes that matter in Common Law claims. The WPI and Medical Disputes Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of data pertaining to medical disputes (i.e. WPI and PIC disputes). This will be
a permanent, full time
position based in our
Sydney
office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate individual and organisational development needs. Deliver individual and group learning and development programs. Expanding and honing EML's Medical Disputes capability
  • Clarifying and managing key stakeholder expectation and allocating appropriate resources to ensure the delivery of effective outcomes.
  • Negotiate terms with external providers and ensure high quality service and delivery.
  • Ensure appropriate attention, management and prevention of risk and governance
  • Identify, report and discuss any emerging risks with the Legal Manager

About You

  • More than 5+ years demonstrated experience in a similar CTP Medical Disputes or Injury Management Specialists role, working within in in a fast-paced business environment is desired.
  • Sound medical knowledge (with a background in medical science, physiotherapy, chiropractic, allied health, rehabilitation or similar being advantageous.
  • Training and experience in assessing WPI in accordance with AMA 4 and the Psychiatric Impairment Rating Scale (PIRS).
  • Experience managing internal and external (PIC) medical disputes, including, drafting applications, replies and submissions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • a collaborative approach, supporting Claims Managers to deliver fair, reasonable and sustainable claims decisions.
