Maritime Constructions is a Marine Contractor with operations in both Western Australia and South Australia. Uniquely capable of self-performing the full spectrum of specialised engineering disciplines to deliver complex marine infrastructure projects from design and construction through to commissioning. Our projects include jetties, wharves, bulk loading facilities, dredging, reclamation, navigation aids, marinas, underwater pipelines, in Australia and internationally.

About the Role:

As our IT Support Officer, you will assist with maintaining the company systems and deliver IT support to our on-site and office teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role reports to the IT manager and will be based between our Fremantle, Henderson and Project sites.

This role is all about bringing great service directly to our operational construction sites ensuring our teams on the ground have reliable, high-performing IT.  In this heavily mobile role, you'll be hands-on with hardware setups, basic troubleshooting, and mobile device support, while also being the friendly face that helps project teams solve their tech challenges on site.

Time spent travelling between project sites will be variable depending on project needs.   This is a hands-on, independent role where you'll be the face of IT on site - setting up equipment, solving basic issues, and connecting site teams with the broader IT support function.

Your days will be varied, including:

• Setting up and supporting remote site offices with IT networks, laptops, copiers, cameras, AV, and mobile devices.
• Running and testing network cabling, tagging electrical equipment (training provided).
• Providing first-line IT support onsite — from printers and laptops to software installs and network connectivity.
• Maintaining accurate records in our IT ticketing system, updating knowledge base articles, and auditing hardware.
• Supporting asset management and end-user training, while promoting IT security awareness across sites.
• Building strong relationships with on onsite teams and acting as a conduit for the office-based IT team, raising issues or risks as you hear of them.

About You

Ideally, you will:

• Have demonstrated relationship building skills and excellent communication and solid general customer service experience (highly desirable help desk/support role in an MSP).
• Bring a working level of IT knowledge (comfortable with routers, laptops, mobile devices, and equipment setups), with escalation pathways and support in place for more complex issues.
• Demonstrate professional maturity, able to work independently, and trusted to represent IT onsite.
• Must have a current driver's licence and a willingness to travel to our project sites.
• There is a manual handling requirement for this role, you must be able to lift up to 20kg (printers & IT equipment).
• Provide a high level of customer service and have the ability to solve problems and seek solutions.
• Be an effective communicator with interpersonal skills.
• Be proactive, motivated and have the ability to 'think outside the box' to create efficiencies.
• Display a basic working knowledge of ICT hardware including mobile devices, Windows computers and Audio-Visual devices.
• Have a basic knowledge of network protocols/equipment, and telecommunications systems and devices is also an advantage.
• Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Tertiary IT studies or further learning is welcomed, but not essential.
