Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Specialist for a mid-level position in Perth and other locations. This part-time, contract role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in desktop support. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining desktop performance and supporting the IT needs of our clients.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with Windows OS troubleshooting to resolve user issues effectively and ensure seamless operation.
- Proficiency in Active Directory management to maintain and administer network resources efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to provide Microsoft Office 365 support, including installation and user guidance.
- Comfortable using remote desktop tools such as TeamViewer to offer virtual support and solutions to clients.
- Strong skills in network configuration to manage and troubleshoot connectivity issues within corporate environments.
- Experience in imaging and reimaging desktops and laptops to ensure reliable system restoration and deployment.
- Expertise in Outlook configuration, including setting up email accounts and resolving related technical issues.
- Mandatory skill in desktop support, emphasizing the ability to deliver comprehensive solutions and client satisfaction. (Mandatory skill)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide first-level desktop support and issue resolution for end-users, either on-site or remotely, as required.
- Maintain hardware and software components, ensuring systems are up-to-date and function optimally.
- Assist with the setup and deployment of new IT equipment for clients, including installation and configuration.
- Support network connectivity for end-users by diagnosing and resolving technical problems related to routers and switches.
- Ensure security compliance by applying regular patches and updates to systems under support.
- Collaborate with other IT personnel to enhance system performance and provide reports on recurring technical issues.
- Manage user accounts through Active Directory by setting permissions, resetting passwords, and ensuring proper access control.
- Document technical incidents and solutions in detail for future reference and quality assurance practices.
