About the Role

An opportunity exists for a self-motivated, patient-focused individual with advanced communication and keyboard skills to join our Box Hill Hospital Specimen Reception team. This varied role includes both front and back-of-house tasks such as receiving and processing specimens, liaising with medical professionals, and assisting patients with their specimen collection and related inquiries.

To be successful in this role you will possess or aspire to achieve:

• Excellent customer service skills
• Advanced communication skills both face-to-face and over the telephone
• High attention to detail
• Previous experience within the Healthcare industry (desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with sound organizational and prioritization skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to manage pressure within a changing work environment
• Highly proficient data entry skills
• Sound organizational skills
• Reliability and punctuality
• General computer literacy with knowledge of standard Microsoft Programs
• Ability to follow instructions and problem-solve effectively

Additional Information:

• This position operates on a rotating roster, including night shifts, weekend shifts, and afternoon and morning shifts.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
