**Job Description**:
As a Laboratory Technician -Microbiology, based in Notting Hill, Melbourne, your main responsibilities are to undertake microbiological analyse of water and a wide variety of environmental samples.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
- Perform and be responsible for the analysis of water and environmental samples in the microbiological section.
- Assist in ensuring the laboratory maintains accreditation/certification in microbiological testing and sampling.
- Participate in in-house and external proficiency programs. Follow QA procedures.
- Actively participate in those activities prescribed by NATA such as calibrations and internal audits.
- Assist management in promoting a safe working environment
- Perform other duties as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
**Qualifications**:
To be considered for this role your skills and attributes should include:
- TAFE or Tertiary qualifications relevant to Microbiology highly desirable.
- Understanding of evolving nature of the workplace, with a willingness to continually adapt and improve job skills and knowledge
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays (may be required from time to time) as the Microbiological section operates every day of the year.
