A1 Earthworx are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team.This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a self-driven expert to manage and coordinate the onsite day to day contractual project outcomes.

As a Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless administrative and operational support across multiple civil construction projects. This senior position requires a proactive, highly organized professional with demonstrated experience in project administration within the construction or civil industries.

You will lead coordination efforts, enhance project systems, and provide high-level support to Project Managers, Engineers, and the General Manager – Civil. The role demands initiative, leadership in administrative processes, and the ability to mentor junior staff where applicable. You will be a key enabler of project efficiency, compliance, and delivery success.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advanced administrative and project support to Project Managers, Engineers, and Senior Leadership across multiple sites.
  • Oversee and improve project administration processes, identifying efficiencies and implementing best practices.
  • Maintain and oversee critical project records such as contracts, registers, training compliance, plant and equipment logs, rosters, and timesheets.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and WHS requirements in all administrative functions.
  • Support Estimating and Bid teams in complex tendering processes, including document preparation, coordination, and submission.
  • Support key site-based resources including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Construction Managers, and HSE Advisors.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    Comply with A1 and MAAS Group WHS procedures and policies.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience, in working in the construction industry in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and competence in the use of the MS suite of software, particularly word and excel.
  • Ability to plan work and organise, prioritising tasks and responding immediately to changing circumstances and demands.
  • Demonstrated success and experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exposure to financial administration within project environment.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting civil construction projects and contributing to successful delivery outcomes.
