About the Role

As our Operations Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our production facility, warehouse and logistics. You'll be responsible for inventory management, supply chain, fulfilment, team rostering & management of our casual staff members.

You'll report directly to the founder as the 2IC and heart of our business, playing a pivotal role in ensuring our business is running smoothly and profitably. This is a hands-on role so you'll divide your time between management and execution. You'll also collaborate with the broader team to streamline systems and improve how we work.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Oversee in-house production planning and execution to ensure all products meet quality, food safety, and efficiency standards.
  • Manage relationships with contract manufacturers, maintaining optimal stock levels and consistent delivery quality.
  • Monitor production costs, including labour and ingredient expenses, and implement measures to minimise wastage.
  • Collaborate with business leads to set and review production KPIs, ensuring weekly performance targets are achieved.

Warehouse, Dispatch & Customer Service

  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems and standard operating procedures to maximise accuracy and efficiency in order fulfilment.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory records through the stock management system, conducting and documenting monthly stocktakes.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, providing clear task lists and direction to team members.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of stock for dispatch, including palletised B2B orders and market collections.
  • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., walkie stacker) to manage deliveries, storage, and logistics.
  • Select cost-effective, reliable couriers and liaise with distribution partners (including Amazon Warehouse) to maintain adequate stock availability.
  • Support order fulfillment and oversee customer service to ensure retail and wholesale customers receive a seamless experience.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management

  • Lead the implementation and daily management of the company's new inventory management system.
  • Manage procurement and maintain optimal stock levels for raw ingredients, packaging, and finished goods.
  • Source new suppliers and negotiate cost-efficient, high-quality supply solutions where needed.

People Management & Leadership

  • Prepare and manage monthly rosters for production and markets, ensuring appropriate team coverage.
  • Provide direction, motivation, and feedback to ensure team performance aligns with business goals.
  • Communicate clearly with the founder and broader team regarding operational performance, challenges, and improvements.
  • Continuously review and enhance systems for packing, loading, and transporting market stock to improve operational efficiency.
