Your Opportunity
Transit Systems NSW is seeking an experienced Accountant for a 12-month contract role based in Smithfield, Sydney. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a vital role in our financial excellence journey, contributing to the robust financial management that underpins our operational success and strategic expansion.
Shape Our Financial Future Through:
- Cash flow reporting and forecasting that supports strategic decision-making
- Preparation of monthly management accounts driving operational insights
- Variance analysis and commentary that guides leadership decisions
- Workshop expenses & inventory reconciliation using cutting-edge TIMS Analytics
- Comprehensive payroll reconciliation, including monthly accrual journals and entitlements management
- Asset register maintenance and loan amortisation schedule oversight
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial integrity
- Contract/charter income reconciliation and debtors ledger management
- BAS, superannuation, payroll tax and FBT compliance excellence
- Creditors processing with precision and efficiency
- Year-end process and audit support, delivering exceptional financial outputs
- Dynamic support for strategic ad hoc initiatives
What Makes You Perfect for This Journey:
- CPA or CA professional qualifications (or near completion)
- Minimum five years' accounting experience within multi-company group environments
- Proven budget management and financial forecasting expertise
- Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, charts, and financial modelling
- Experience with analytical tools that drive business intelligence
- TIMS product experience highly valued
- Collaborative team approach with strong autonomous working capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
