Your Opportunity

Transit Systems NSW is seeking an experienced Accountant for a 12-month contract role based in Smithfield, Sydney. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll play a vital role in our financial excellence journey, contributing to the robust financial management that underpins our operational success and strategic expansion.

Shape Our Financial Future Through:

• Cash flow reporting and forecasting that supports strategic decision-making
• Preparation of monthly management accounts driving operational insights
• Variance analysis and commentary that guides leadership decisions
• Workshop expenses & inventory reconciliation using cutting-edge TIMS Analytics
• Comprehensive payroll reconciliation, including monthly accrual journals and entitlements management
• Asset register maintenance and loan amortisation schedule oversight
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring financial integrity
• Contract/charter income reconciliation and debtors ledger management
• BAS, superannuation, payroll tax and FBT compliance excellence
• Creditors processing with precision and efficiency
• Year-end process and audit support, delivering exceptional financial outputs
• Dynamic support for strategic ad hoc initiatives

What Makes You Perfect for This Journey:

• CPA or CA professional qualifications (or near completion)
• Minimum five years' accounting experience within multi-company group environments
• Proven budget management and financial forecasting expertise
• Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, charts, and financial modelling
• Experience with analytical tools that drive business intelligence
• TIMS product experience highly valued
• Collaborative team approach with strong autonomous working capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
