The Role:

Navantia Australia has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Officer to join the team out of its stunning Darling Park, Sydney office. This is initially a 6 month fixed-term contract with a possibility of extension. The Accounts Payable Officer will work closely with the Finance Administration Manager and Finance team and be responsible for leading the internal process for any payments to third parties. This role is expected to ensure the accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of accounts payable.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the administrative process of Accounts payable
  • Ensure invoices are approved in accordance with Navantia Australia policy
  • Prepare and process invoices for payment
  • Reconciliation of invoices and statements
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy while processing finance correspondence
  • Monitor the employee reimbursement of expenses process
  • Lead some of the EOFY task relating to financial commitments with third parties
  • Assist and support the Finance team with adhoc duties as required
  • Prepare purchase orders

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Relevant TAFE or Tertiary Qualifications in Finance or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years Accounts Paybable experience using SAP S/4HANA
  • Advanced level experience in Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and clients
  • Excellent task management and prioritisation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships for all levels of personnel
  • Australian Citizenship.
