About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workforce Coordinator to lead all workforce management activities at Direct Care Assistance. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our teams are well-staffed, compliant, and supported to deliver safe, high-quality care in line with NDIS Practice Standards and organizational goals.

You'll oversee rostering, recruitment, staff compliance, onboarding, and engagement across our SIL, SDA, in-home, and community programs.

Key Responsibilities

Rostering & Workforce Planning

  • Manage end-to-end rostering across all services
  • Ensure rosters meet participant needs while balancing staff availability and award obligations
  • Monitor workforce utilisation, overtime, and coverage gaps
  • Adjust rosters proactively in response to absences and operational changes
  • Lead forward workforce planning to meet future service growth

Recruitment, Onboarding & Induction

  • Support and participate in recruitment and interview processes
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to design effective talent acquisition strategies
  • Oversee onboarding, induction, and orientation of new staff
  • Contribute to retention strategies, staff recognition, and development programs

Compliance & Skills Management

  • Maintain staff compliance records (NDIS Worker Screening, police checks, First Aid/CPR, immunisations, work rights, etc.)
  • Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure all records are current
  • Ensure workforce compliance with SCHADS Award, NDIS Price Guide, and Fair Work requirements
  • Provide guidance on visa and work restriction compliance
  • Escalate any non-compliance or risks to management promptly while you are working on its resolution.

Staff Management & Engagement

  • Lead staff engagement initiatives to strengthen team connection and accountability
  • Support performance review processes and improvement plans
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture
  • Act as a key contact for staff feedback and communication

Organisational Support

  • Provide workforce-related reports and recommendations to management
  • Contribute to broader organisational projects and service delivery improvements
Skills & Qualities
  • Strong knowledge of SCHADS Award, Fair Work, and rostering compliance
  • Understanding of the NDIS Price Guide and Practice Standards
  • Experience managing workforce compliance and onboarding processes
  • Knowledge of immigration/work rights compliance (preferred)
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities
  • Sound knowledge on Roster Of care and creating large rosters
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • High attention to detail and strong time management
  • Proficiency in rostering systems, Microsoft Office, and compliance software
