Salary - $113,574 - $125,720 plus superannuation and leave loading

Your role

Situated within the Compliance Program team, this role requires an experienced and hands on Quality Assurance Officer to hit the ground running in this busy yet rewarding role.

Support team in managing the delivery of statewide programs such as the Fire Safety Program (FSP), Change of Use (COU), Property Assessment Survey (PAS) and Detailed Property Assessment Survey (DPAS) and the like, this role will require statewide travel including overnight stay where necessary.

What you'll do

The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for undertaking field audits and delivering quality assurance finding reports. In addition to this, the responsibilities of this role will also include:

  • Preparing audit plans using data stratification and sample extraction methods
  • Coordinating inspection schedules and organising access appointments promptly
  • Collating and summarising outcomes of audit reports and providing updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Liaising with relevant Service Providers regarding the Performance Management Framework (PMF) of relevant contracts and ensuring compliance
  • Conducting training and accreditation to external service providers ensuring adherence to requirements, compliance and maintaining consistency
  • Providing guidance on internal control and actively participating in enhancing internal audit standards and practices within the Housing Portfolio
  • Maintaining consistent transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders providing advice, reports, and feedback on compliance issues to foster positive relationship building and supporting an ongoing effective and efficient working environment
  • Meticulously plan and execute QA site and desktop audits across NSW using a combination of computer-aided auditing techniques (CAAT) and traditional methods

What we're looking for

The essential requirements of this role are Qualifications in Engineering, Architectural, Building, Surveying, Project/Business management or related construction discipline.

In addition to the essential requirements, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Sound understanding of construction standards along with strong ability to conduct thorough on-site audits within occupied properties
  • Keen attention to detail for identifying non-compliances including clear communication and report-writing skills

  • Quick learning ability for adapting to variety of IT systems and tools along with intermediate to high level skills in using standard MS Office suites such as Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Current Driver's License

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with a range of different stakeholders and personalities
