The Opportunity:As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making across the organisation. This role bridges finance and operations, working closely with project teams, operational leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, integrity of data, and continuous improvement of financial processes. You'll support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and provide actionable insights that influence business outcomes.
Your Role:Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage financial performance across a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely and accurate budget, actuals, and forecast reporting.
- Prepare and analyse monthly management reports including revenue, cost accruals, and variance analysis against budgets/forecasts.
- Maintain project accounting structures including cost codes, chart of accounts and timesheet mapping in financial systems.
- Manage month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and reporting deliverables.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data across all systems and reports.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
- Act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, providing financial insights that support decision-making, cost control, pricing strategies, and overall business performance.
- Deliver customer-focused financial support to business units and administrative teams.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes in collaboration with business units.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasting tools, and dashboards for performance tracking and scenario analysis.
- Monitor project cost forecasts to ensure accuracy and proactively highlight deviations.
Compliance, Systems & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements, including preparation of returns for employment taxes, GST, and withholding taxes where applicable.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Support integration of finance systems, including process mapping and improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with Accounts Payable, and Payroll to resolve financial queries and ensure compliance.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Acounting, Finance or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar Finance Business Partner or Commercial Analyst role.
- Strong experience in project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Background in audit or professional services (advantageous).
- Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, deadline-driven, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, lead process improvements, and contribute to strategic initiatives.
