About the role

As a Chef De Partie at Pavilion Cafe and Bar, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our popular cafe located on the  beachside in Warrnambool. This full-time position requires you to work as part of a skilled team dedicated to delivering fast paced quality dining experiences to our customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare high-quality dishes to the restaurant's exacting standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
  • Assist the Head Chef in planning, costing, waste minimalization and inventory control.
  • Train and mentor junior staff to uphold the cafe's excellence.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team dynamic in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food preparation and service adheres to relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Work five days a week from pm

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Chef De Partie or equivalent role in a similar environment
  • Strong technical cooking skills across the kitchen and a passion for creating innovative, flavoursome dishes
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant formal culinary qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery)
