Accountant - 2-Month Contract
A repituble organisation is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team on a short-term contract. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who can quickly step in and take ownership of key month-end and reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency during a busy period.

The role
As the Accountant, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate month-end results, reconciliations, and analysis, while supporting the wider finance function. You'll work closely with both operational and commercial teams, providing timely insights and ensuring strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Complete inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities
  • Assist with month-end reporting, providing commentary against budget and prior periods
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations to a high standard
  • Support sales and margin analysis, highlighting key drivers of performance
  • Provide accounts payable support and maintain robust financial processes

About you

  • Qualified accountant, or working towards (CA/CPA or equivalent)
  • Proven month-end experience in a complex environment
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills
