We're seeking a Sales Estimator & Business Development Manager — a confident closer with a hunter mentality who can estimate accurately, sell on value (not price), and drive consistent growth across both residential and commercial markets.
The Role
You'll take full ownership of Metro's sales and quoting function.
Your week will be split between quoting and closing residential projects and developing new opportunities with builders, strata managers, and property professionals.
When inbound leads are quiet, you'll be out creating opportunities — knocking on doors, making calls, and building relationships that keep the pipeline full.
This is not a desk job. It's a hands-on, performance-driven role for someone who thrives on winning new business and seeing results from their own effort.
Your focus: Estimate with accuracy. Sell with confidence. Drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections, measurements, and scope assessments
- Prepare accurate quotes and professional proposals using our internal systems
- Present and sell solutions based on value — not just price
- Confidently handle client objections and close deals
- Follow up on all open quotes and maintain high conversion rates
- Build and maintain relationships with builders, property managers, and strata clients
- Proactively seek and secure new commercial and partnership opportunities
- Report weekly on pipeline, conversion rates, and upcoming opportunities
Performance & KPIs
You'll be measured on results — not hours in the office.
Our expectations are clear:
- Consistently achieve a minimum of $100,000 in new signed projects each month
- Maintain a 40–50% close rate on quotes issued
- Issue 10–15 accurate quotes per week
- Follow up every open quote within 24 hours
- Build and expand partnerships with builders, strata managers, and property professionals — continuously and proactively
You'll have full support from marketing and operations, but the drive, hunger, and results will come from you.
Who You Are
- Proven experience in painting, construction, or trade-based estimating and sales is strongly preferred
- A hunter with a closer's mindset — you love chasing opportunities and turning conversations into signed projects
- Skilled in value-based and solution-oriented selling
- Confident using measuring tools and performing take-offs from plans
- Experienced in estimating new construction projects from drawings and interpreting architectural and builder plans
- Capable of preparing and submitting tenders and formal submissions for commercial projects
- Organised, proactive, and results-driven
- Comfortable managing your own performance and pipeline
