Scarlett Contracting is looking for an Estimator to join our team, and support our Senior Electrical Estimator.

The PERSON

  • Background/study in one of the following: electrical engineering, electrical estimating, construction estimating, quantity surveying, project management
  • or previous experience as A Grade Electrician is desirable
  • Analytical and quantitive skills
  • Drive for accuracy, data and detail oriented
  • Open to learning and development
  • Holds technical understanding of the industry and project subject matter and willingness to learn
  • Excellent computer and software skills, using all technical software in an effective manner
  • Experience using some of Simpro, Ground Plan, AutoCAD, PowerCAD, or equivalents
The JOB
  • Spend your days working on our electrical projects in the industrial sector, including high bay, warehousing, cold storage, high voltage and automation environments
  • Supports the Senior Estimator to prepare tenders, price jobs, send quotes to clients
  • Learn from the Senior Estimator to understand the intricacies of the estimating process
  • Pricing items, liaising with suppliers
  • Identifies and calculates labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents
  • Maintain accurate cost and pricing database
  • Understand and evaluate drawings, plans and proposals
  • Price minor variations as required
  • Attends to various tender platforms and alerts team of opportunities
  • Utilise technology to be innovative, efficient, and consistent
  • Collate As Builts and GreenStar documentation
  • Build internal relationships with direct team
