Senior Correspondence Officer

**This is a temporary full-time opportunity to join the Cabinet and Executive Services team to support the coordination and provision of comprehensive and timely ministerial and executive support to the Minister for Local Government and Water and Minister for Fire, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers.
The Senior Correspondence Officer reports to the Manager, Executive Services. The position provides high quality executive correspondence and briefing services including a significant editorial focus and is also responsible for developing, managing and maintaining administrative systems and processes to ensure the efficient flow of ministerial and executive correspondence. The position provides support and guidance to the entire correspondence network in the department to ensure written standards are of a high quality.
You will provide consistent and reliable support to the Manager to meet the needs of the office and apply critical thinking and analysis in completing your work. You will also form and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders from all business groups within the department, including senior executives and their staff.
We are looking for a team member who can:
- Critically analyse and quality assure ministerial and executive correspondence to ensure the provision of quality, accurate and timely advice.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate systems and processes to support the flow of ministerial and executive correspondence and to oversee the provision of regular reports on the status of ministerial and executive correspondence to the Office of the Minister and the Office of the Director-General.
- Review responses to all ministerial, executive and other correspondence to ensure standard of presentation and compatibility with government policy and departmental style guides.
- Liaise with departmental officers to ensure the effective preparation and coordination of ministerial and executive correspondence.
- Provide authoritative information and assistance with training and advice to departmental officers for the preparation of all types of ministerial and executive documentation.
- Support the liaison process with business areas to ensure that the appropriate processes and standards are adhered to in regard to ministerial and executive correspondence.
- Contribute at a high-level to a culture of client service, excellence and continuous improvement.
- Engage actively in a team environment and contribute to a positive team culture.
