We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to lead our dynamic team at Gol Gappa Lawnton Food Store. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Indian street food culture, a commitment to excellent customer service.
Location: 555 Gympie Road, Lawnton, QLD 4501
Responsibilities Include but not limited to the following:
- Supporting the Head Chef with seasonal menu creation ensuring remain authentic to the direction of the establishment whilst managing food costs.
- Provide supervision and guidance to Chefs, Cooks & other kitchen staff, supporting on boarding and ongoing development of kitchen team members to create an inclusive, high performing culture in line with company values
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP and workplace health and safety legislation and regulation
- Assist Head Chef with all culinary requirements, food preparation, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ordering inventory according to needs and using approved suppliers and online ordering processes
- Freezing and preserving foods to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Train new staff members and conduct ongoing training for existing staff to maintain skill levels.
- To assist in allocating duties and rosters to permanent and casual kitchen staff.
- To maintain the highest standard of service, quality and presentation throughout all food outlets in conjunction with the Head Chef.
· Continuously develop new recipes, suggest menu improvements, and help manage kitchen budgets for optimal performance.
Salary Range: AUD $70,000 – AUD $85,000 Per annum plus Superannuation
Skills and Experience:
· Minimum Diploma level qualifications are required.
· The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in busy restaurant.
· Must be ready to work on weekends and late nights
