Cook in paradise on the Southern Great Barrier Reef Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Line Chef to join our kitchen team.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role in the kitchen, delivering buffet service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will work across all areas of service, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. Duties include:

  • Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard for buffet service
  • Setup and replenishment of buffet stations
  • Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
  • Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs with daily operations
  • Contributing positively to a collaborative kitchen team
  • Bringing creative flair to menu offerings and presentation while maintaining consistency

What We're Looking For:

  • Available for immediate start
  • Commitment through the Christmas and New Year period (minimum)
  • Completion (or willingness to complete) a Food Handlers Certificate and Food Allergen course
  • Proven experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen with bulk cooking or buffet experience
  • Strong attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation
  • Creative freedom to showcase ideas within a team-driven kitchen
  • Flexibility to work across all service times (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts)
  • A strong team player with reliability and a positive attitude

Roster & Conditions:

  • 10 days on, 4 days off roster
  • Flights and accommodation included (single room, shared bathroom facilities)
  • All meals provided
  • Flights to and from Hervey Bay or Bundaberg
  • Time off to snorkel and explore our stunning coral cay
