Medical Receptionist – Dermatology Clinic

About the Role

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our specialist dermatology clinic in Brighton. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and professional experience. This position is available on a part-time or full-time basis during standard business hours (Monday to Friday). It offers flexibility and the chance to be part of a growing, respected practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and welcoming patients to the clinic in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answering patient calls and handling enquiries
  • Processing patient billing and receipting, including Medicare, DVA, and WorkCover claims
  • Managing patient recalls and follow-up messages
  • Receiving and actioning referrals from GPs
  • Ensuring new patients receive timely pre-appointment instructions
  • Assisting with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
  • Resolving billing issues and providing administrative support to doctors
  • Maintaining a high level of confidentiality with patient information
  • Assisting with general office administration tasks as required
  • Light cleaning and restocking of consulting rooms
  • Administering ultraviolet (UV) treatments (training provided; this is a simple procedure guided by established protocols)
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role is a plus
  • Experience with practice management software is highly regarded
  • Confident and adaptable in using technology
  • Excellent communication and professional, friendly, and respectful interpersonal skills
  • High level of organisation, attention to detail, and time management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
  • A calm, professional, and compassionate manner, especially in high-pressure situations
