About the role

Milk and Beans Coffee House is seeking an experienced Chef and Cafe Manager to join our team in Alexandra Headland.

As our Chef Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing our kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and an exceptional dining experience for our customers. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

  1. Overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management
  2. Developing and implementing kitchen policies and procedures to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
  3. Supervising and training the kitchen staff and overseeing front of house operations to foster a positive and collaborative team environment
  4. Monitoring and controlling food costs to ensure financial targets are met
  5. Creating innovative and appealing menu offerings
  6. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
  7. Participating in marketing and promotional activities to support the restaurant's growth

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
  2. Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management
  3. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a strong team
  4. Thorough understanding of food safety and health regulations, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  5. Passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes, and a commitment to using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
  6. Relevant qualification in culinary arts is required
