About the company/role:

We're looking for an Electrical Field Service & Workshop Technician to join our client, an environmental monitoring organisation, located North of Brisbane. This is a hands-on, hybrid role offering a balanced mix of workshop-based system builds and outdoor field service work across a variety of locations throughout Queensland. If you thrive in challenging conditions, enjoy problem-solving on the go, and have a solid electrical or instrumentation background, this could be the opportunity for you.

Duties:

  • Travel to remote locations to install, maintain, and repair environmental monitoring systems, including calibrating and troubleshooting sensitive equipment.
  • Work independently in harsh climates such as mine sites and arid regions.
  • Liaise with clients on-site, providing technical support and training.
  • Build and integrate monitoring systems with precision and quality control.
  • Perform repairs on customer-owned and project-related equipment.
  • Assist with documentation, freight logistics, and general workshop maintenance.

Skills/experience:

  • Strong electrical or instrumentation background.
  • Proven ability in fault finding, diagnostics, and reading electrical schematics.
  • Experience working on mine sites or in similarly remote environments.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • TAFE certificate/diploma or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
  • Scientific or environmental monitoring experience.
  • A current driver's license is essential.
