Terrex Seismic is one of Australia's most experienced land seismic contractors, delivering the most innovative seismic data acquisition solutions to the oil & gas, minerals, coal and research sectors. Our core business is seismic data acquisition, with a full suite of services from survey design and planning through to post-acquisition restoration services.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Tractor Operator to support our field operations in remote and challenging environments.

This position is casual on a FIFO basis and can be Australia-wide. The current roster for our upcoming project is 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

You must be available from 26/10/2025 until early December.

Our field crews operate from fully mobile camps in remote areas of Australia. All flights, accommodation and meals are provided whilst on crew.

The Operator will receive a daily rate, with wage dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a John Deere tractor with a slasher attachment to assist with the layout of seismic nodal equipment.
  • Conduct daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Meet safety and environmental practice standards, and be responsible for their safety and any equipment within their care and control.
  • Actively attends and participates in all safety meetings.
  • Understands and agrees to observe the items outlined in the company's safety, operational and orientation guidelines
  • Reports daily for work on time, equipped with lunch and applicable personal protective (PPE).

About You

  • Line clearing and mulching experience preferred.
  • Tractor Qualifications: AHCMOM202 Operate tractors or RIIMPO315E Conduct tractor operations (or equivalent).
  • Minimum C class manual driver's licence.
  • Formal driver training, including RIIVEH201 Operate Light Vehicle, RIIVEH305 Operate and Maintain a 4WD Vehicle, and PMASUP236B Operate Vehicles in the Field (or willingness to obtain).
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow survey maps on GPS navigation systems.
  • Ability to work in remote areas and associated conditions in Australia.
  • Available to commence onboarding immediately before mobilising to crew.
  • Must be willing to complete and pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
