Bishops is a leading PNG industrial hardware and safety equipment supplier with over 50 years of experience in servicing Mining & Civil, Government, Oil and Gas, Electrical, MRO, Commercial, Construction and Engineering industries.

Opportunity for a motivated Store person with a can-do attitude to join our small Warehouse team within our Australian consolidation depot in Brisbane (Banyo).

The role

You will be responsible for the receiving, handling and dispatching of goods coming into, or out of our Brisbane Distribution Centre. This includes checking goods on arrival and before loading containers for dispatch to PNG ports, making sure they have the right products, in the correct quantity and that there is no damage.

Other responsibilities include the ability to:

• Operate licensed and non-licensed material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack or trolley to assist in loading and unloading trucks and moving goods around the warehouse for storage
• Responsible for the picking, packing, wrapping and dispatching completed orders to internal customers for sea or air freight
• Responsible for ensuring the storing and packing of goods and materials is in accordance with appropriate procedures and/or regulations
• Operate computer system for entering details of received delivery slips, requisitions, invoices
• Allocating and retrieving goods from specific warehouse areas
• Ensure the warehouse area is neat and tidy
• Working to achieve the goals and targets defined by the company

You will need to bring to Bishops:

• Your positive personality to team dedicated to rolling up their sleeves and giving anything a go
• Have previous experience in warehousing
• Minimum of 6-12 months warehousing experience is required
• Current Forklift license (LO) advantageous
• Driver License
• Good computer literacy skills – MS Office
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to follow instruction, work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good organisational skills
• Be physically fit and able to lift heavy packages
• Enjoy practical and manual work
