Campbell Property Group (CPG) — one of Australia's most respected residential construction and property development companies — is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this role offers exposure across multiple aspects of accounting, including month-end reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting, with approximately 30% of your responsibilities focused on Accounts Payable (AP).
You'll play an integral role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting audit processes, and maintaining compliance with company and statutory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and analyse financial reports to support business decision-making
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding of transactions
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage Accounts Payable functions (approx. 30% of role), including invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations, and payment runs
- Support the preparation of BAS, payroll tax, and other compliance reporting
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely financial information flow across departments
- Participate in system improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
About You
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CA/CPA or working towards qualification desirable)
- 2–4 years' experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accounts Officer role, ideally within property, construction, or a related industry
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable processes and systems
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software (e.g. MYOB, Xero, or ERP systems)
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
