Job Description
The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, credits, and payments within the company's financial systems. This role encompasses the end-to-end accounts payable function, including invoice matching, reconciliations, supplier maintenance, and the preparation of EFT payment runs, while maintaining compliance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls.
The position also provides critical support to the month-end close process through the preparation of accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting, as well as assisting with audits and ad hoc reporting requirements.
This is a fixed-term 12-month contract requiring high attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to foster effective relationships with suppliers, colleagues, and stakeholders across the business. Candidates must hold full working rights in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce (preferred)
- Excellent understanding of bookkeeping principles and full end-to-end accounts payable function
- QSR, hospitality or Food and Beverage experience (preferred)
- Prior experience with Lightyear, Expensify and NetSuite ERP highly desirable, or other similar ERP system

- Highly numerate & analytical with excellent attention to detail
- Able to challenge the status quo with a continuous improvement mindset
- Exceptional organizational skills to be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and ensure achievement of goals and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable engagement with people at all levels
- Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer/IT acumen plus intermediate Microsoft Office software a must
- Energetic and proactive with an enthusiastic attitude to take on Accounts Payable function
