The Role

The HR Business Partner will work closely with Centacare's service delivery Units and leaders to integrate HR and people management strategies across all levels of the organisation. In this true generalist role, you will align HR initiatives with broader business goals, provide insight-driven solutions, and influence both strategic and operational outcomes. You will be part of a supportive, collaborative corporate team that values innovation, while contributing to a purpose-driven organisation making a real difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and proactive HR business support to designated business Units. This includes development of solutions that facilitate operational performance.
  • Deliver generalist HR advice to the organisation to help achieve a high performing culture.
  • Lead or hold a key role in the development and delivery of HR business improvement projects.
  • Lead the development of HR policy and procedure implementation across Centacare.
  • Provide expert employee relations advice, including end-to-end case management in relation to performance and conduct matters.
  • Advise on and implement organisational policies to ensure compliance with relevant Awards and the Fair Work Act.
  • Lead organisational and unit change initiatives, overseeing workforce planning to align with operational goals, and industrial compliance
  • As part of the partnering model, integrate into business operations by building effective relationships with people leaders to assist them to identify, analyse and explore opportunities that support service delivery outcomes.

About you

You are a proactive and detail orientated HR professional with a strong ability to build meaningful relationships with leaders and staff. You have an ability to offer tailored and timely advice and support, that fosters a positive workplace culture, in line with Centacare values. You have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and are committed to driving initiatives that support both individual and organisational growth.

To be successful in this role, you will have 3-5 years' experience in a generalist HR role.

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, employee relations or relevant experience
  • Experience in a generalist Human Resources role within a medium to large organisation
  • Advanced knowledge of employee relations and industrial relations, being able to interpret legislation and manage complex matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience working in a unionised environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong customer/ unit focus
  • Ability to analyse and develop solutions and initiatives that add value to organisational HR priorities
  • Experience providing advice and guidance in a broad range of HR functions including IR and ER
  • Experience supporting or leading organisational change across multiple levels of the organisation.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence.

Desirable Criteria

  • Proficient working knowledge and application of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010
  • Experience using Tanda Rostering system, Preceda Payroll, HR Onboard, Expr3ss Recruitment and Microsoft Teams
