We are seeking an experienced Accountant / Office Coordinator to join our small, dynamic team in a part-time capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional, or someone returning to the workforce who values work-life balance while remaining engaged in meaningful, varied work.

This role combines office administration with comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities, supporting the efficient operation of our family office's diverse investment portfolio. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for the family office and will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of financial management and administrative excellence that underpin our operations.

Previous experience in property management, investment accounting, or family office operations would be highly regarded but not essential.

We're looking for someone with at least 4-5 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience, including experience with BAS processing, accounts payable/receivable, and management accounting.

The position offers the flexibility of a 3-day work week while providing the opportunity to work with a respected family business with substantial assets under management and a commitment to professional growth and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Management


• BAS Preparation and Lodgement: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements accurately and on time


• PAYG Administration: Manage Pay As You Go withholding and reporting requirements


• TPAR Compliance: Prepare and submit Taxable Payments Annual Reports


• Superannuation: Administer superannuation contributions and compliance reporting


• Accounts Receivable: Manage tenant invoicing, rent collection, and debtor follow-up


• Accounts Payable: Process supplier invoices, manage payment runs, and maintain vendor relationships


• Bank Reconciliations: Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations across multiple entities


• Cash Flow Forecasting: Prepare regular cash flow projections to support investment decisions


• Budget Analysis: Assist with budget preparation and provide variance analysis reporting


• Management Accounting: Prepare monthly financial reports and KPI dashboards for management

Office Coordinator


• Tenant Relations: Serve as primary point of contact for tenants across commercial properties


• Facilities and contractor coordination


• General Administration: Manage correspondence, filing, and general office coordination


• SharePoint Management: Maintain document management systems and ensure data integrity


• Office 365 Administration: Support team productivity through effective use of Microsoft Office suite


• Meeting Coordination: Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain board calendars


• Compliance Management: Ensure timely lodgement of statutory returns and maintain corporate records


• Insurances – ensure insurances are up to date and on file


• Board meeting and Investment Committee meeting support

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Professional Experience & Qualifications


• years of hands-on BAS accounting and bookkeeping experience


• Demonstrated fluency with Xero accounting software


• Proven experience with Australian taxation compliance including BAS, PAYG, and TPAR


• Strong background in accounts receivable and payable processing


• Experience with bank reconciliations and cash management


• Knowledge of superannuation administration processes in Xero

Technical Skills


• SharePoint document management


• Strong competency across Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)


• Experience with cash flow forecasting and budget analysis

HIGHLY VALUED CRITERIA


• Family office understanding: Appreciation for the unique dynamics and requirements of family business operations


• Management accounting experience with ability to prepare management reports


• Property industry knowledge: Familiarity with commercial property development, property management, tenant relations, and real estate accounting


• Trust and corporate structure awareness: Understanding of family trusts, corporate trustees, and related tax implications (desirable)

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

Schedule & Location


• Part-time: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)


• Office-based role at 54 Turbo Drive, Coorparoo


• Standard business hours with occasional flexibility as required
